APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP FOR A REGISTERED VESSEL

A Transfer of Ownership application applies to vessels registered under the Canadian Register of Vessels. This will transfer the said vessel's official number to a new owner. This does not apply for pleasure craft with licence numbers on the bow. Example licence format, 1X111111, 11X111111 or XX111111. I understand that every person who provides false or misleading information commits an offence under Section 37 of the Canada Shipping Act, 2001. In the event that a boat sale does not go through please be advised that all applications and processing fees are not refundable as per our no refund policy.

State Special Circumstances
Vessel must be owned by one of the following qualified entities. Please select applicable section that describes the type of entity that owns the vessel:*
- A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; or
- A corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province.
- A corporation incorporated under the laws of a foreign state if one of the following is acting with respect to all matters relating to the vessel, namely, a subsidiary of the corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province, an employee or a director in Canada of a branch office of the corporation that is carrying on business in Canada, or a ship management company incorporated under the laws of Canada or a province.
- An Indian Band registered with the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs.
