Registration gives title to a vessel and proves legal ownership, it also may be used as security for a loan. Registration ensures a unique name for the vessel in Canada; and registration allows the vessel to fly the Canadian flag.

ADVISORY: Please be advised that changes to the Marine Safety Fees Regulations have gone into effect as of April 1st, 2024 causing a fee increase and the implementation of a five year renewal fee for large vessels.
